A leading Civil Engineering contractor based in Suffolk, but operating throughout the UK. They deliver high-quality civil engineering projects in various sectors including highways, bridges, infrastructure, flood defence, energy, and rail.
Your new role
An exciting opportunity to join the team as a Quantity Surveyor. Operating across the East of England. You will help to deliver heavy Civils projects, including major Highways.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all work complies with quality, safety, and environmental policies, as well as company procedures.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental objectives.
- Prepare plans, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
- Conduct on-site measurements and measure drawings as required.
- Identify potential risks and evaluate control options.
- Perform ongoing cost analysis of maintenance and repair work, providing evidence for dispute resolution.
- Conduct feasibility studies based on client requests.
- Prepare estimates and analyse subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare and agree on variation accounts, interim valuations, and final accounts.
- Prepare and issue certification for contract payments to sub-contractors.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Have experience working on heavy civil projects and with the NEC form of contract.
- Demonstrate innovative problem-solving abilities and effective negotiation skills across various levels of the construction environment.
- Possess impressive numeracy and IT skills to handle the financial and mathematical demands of the role.
- Be willing to travel, as this is a regional role, and hold a full UK driving license.
- Be eligible to work in the UK
