The Opportunity

As part of the continued growth of their Transportation division, our client is seeking an experienced Fire Engineer to join their expanding Rail team.
This is a remote role, and the successful candidate can be based anywhere in the UK.

Your Responsibilities

You will play a key role in delivering safe, compliant, and high-quality fire engineering solutions across rail projects, including:

* Coordinating work with contractors and Network Rail

* Liaising with route engineers and other technical disciplines

* Leading the design, installation, and commissioning of fire systems

* Applying a strong understanding of fire engineering codes and standards (e.g., LPC, BAFE) with relevant certifications

* Developing and reviewing fire strategies and engineered solutions

* Providing assurance on fire system design and commissioning activities

* Providing assurance for fire strategies and designs for managed and unmanned stations, including where risk-based or performance-based approaches are used

* Supporting engineering and development assurance to ensure schemes are safe, affordable, and aligned with programme needs

* Using risk identification and evaluation methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA)

* Acting as, or supporting, the project engineer to ensure method statements for site works and surveys are produced to required standards

About You

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

* Experience applying key codes and standards such as BS 9992 and BS 9999

* Professional membership or accreditation through bodies such as CIBSE or IET

* A degree in Fire Engineering or a closely related discipline

* Membership of the Institution of Fire Engineers (MIFireE)

* Chartered Fire Engineer (CEng) status via the Institution of Fire Engineers
