Technical Services Manager
Location: Fleet
Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Company Car

A rapidly expanding specialist in temporary power, lighting, and climate-control solutions is looking for a Technical Services Manager to take ownership of all technical support and field service activity across the UK. This is a new role with real influence, ideal for someone who wants both hands-on problem-solving and strategic oversight.

You’ll be based at the company’s Fleet depot, working directly with senior leadership, sales, hire desk teams, and a broad range of customers. Expect variety, autonomy and the chance to shape how technical services operate as the business continues to scale.

The Role

You’ll act as the primary technical contact for customers needing support with installations, breakdowns, performance issues, or troubleshooting. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

* Delivering technical support remotely and on-site.

* Providing technical leadership and guidance to in-house operatives.

* Overseeing configuration, compliance checks, and technical validation of modular power products.

* Talking customers through breakdowns and fault resolution via phone, email, video, or web chat.

* Attending site callouts and managing repairs or technical resolutions.

* Project managing installations and coordinating the deployment of connected monitoring systems.

* Supervising site setups, maintenance, and system integrations — including directing internal and subcontract teams when required.

* Managing warranty cases and liaising with internal teams and manufacturers to ensure quick turnaround.

* Delivering technical training to customers on design, servicing, and maintenance of equipment.

About You

You’re technically strong, clear-thinking under pressure, and confident dealing with customers face-to-face. You can juggle multiple projects, adapt quickly, and solve problems with a practical, structured approach.

Ideal experience includes:

* Valid CSCS test pass certificate (or willingness to obtain one shortly after joining).

* Comfortable working across varied environments — offices, retail, construction, or industrial.

* Strong electrical knowledge with a formal qualification such as City & Guilds 3529, 3528, 2365, or equivalent.

* Experience completing safe isolations as part of daily work.

* Understanding of temporary power, heating, cooling, or environmental control systems.

* Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

* Strong communication skills with the confidence to engage customers, suppliers, and colleagues at all levels.

* High digital competency and familiarity with connected/IoT technologies (experience an advantage).

* Clear understanding of health & safety practices.

* A proactive mindset with the ability to create solutions, explore ideas, and drive improvements.
