Your new role
As a Site Manager with this contractor, you will oversee the daily operations of their residential construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning, coordinating, and supervising all on-site activities.
- Ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Communicating with clients, architects, and subcontractors to define work requirements and provide progress updates.
- Preparing and negotiating cost estimates, budgets, and schedules.
- Selecting and managing subcontractors and staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Monitoring compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations.
- Resolving any work problems or emergencies that may arise on the site.
- Ordering and managing materials and equipment.
- Documenting all job site activities and preparing reports for management.
What you’ll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager, particularly in residential construction delivering large-scale developments.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Relevant certifications such as the Site Manager Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card.
