I’m working with a well-regarded commercial fit-out contractor known for delivering high-quality projects across workplace, retail, and hospitality sectors. The business has built a strong reputation for its design-led approach, attention to detail, and long-standing client relationships. As their project pipeline continues to grow, they are now seeking an experienced Estimator to join their commercial team and support the pricing of innovative, fast-paced fit-out schemes.

About the Role

As Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders for a variety of fit-out projects. Working closely with directors, project teams, and supply chain partners, you’ll play a key role in securing new business and ensuring bids reflect the company’s high standards and technical expertise.

Key responsibilities include:

Reviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.

Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender submissions.

*

Conducting take-offs and ensuring accurate measurement of materials and labour.

*

Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and negotiate best value.

*

Identifying risks, opportunities, and value-engineering options within each bid.

*

Working closely with the commercial and project teams to ensure smooth handover upon award.

*

Maintaining knowledge of market rates, supply chain performance, and industry trends.

Requirements

*

Proven experience as an Estimator within the commercial fit-out or interiors sector (or similar construction environment).

*

Strong understanding of construction costs, procurement processes, and estimating methodologies.

*

Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documents.

*

Excellent numerical, analytical, and organisational skills.

*

Confident liaising with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.

*

Strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

*

Relevant qualifications in construction, estimating, quantity surveying, or related disciplines (desirable)
