Principal Sustainability Consultant – Permanent Job – Nottingham (Remote) – £45,000 – £60,000 DOE

I am recruiting on behalf of a prestigious consultancy firm known for its award-winning multidisciplinary services. The company specialises in mechanical and electrical building services designs, focusing on reducing CO2 emissions and lowering energy and running costs for clients. They are committed to staying ahead of industry developments and are accredited by Investors in People.
They work on a range of projects, such as commercial spaces/offices, holiday parks, health centres, new build leisure facilities, residential developments and more…
Your new role
They are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Principal Sustainability Consultant to join the team. The successful candidate will lead the sustainability department and provide clients with a range of services; these services will be moulded around the perfect candidate. You will be responsible for client liaison and developing business, although there is plenty in-house to start with. You will report into the head of M&E and the CEO to develop the team with their support.
This services will consist of:
- Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
- Sustainability reports
And also ideally:
- BREEAM Assessments
- SAP Reports
- Simplified Building Energy Models (SBEM)
What you’ll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. A master’s degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sustainability consultancy, ideally with a focus on M&E projects.
- Strong knowledge of sustainability principles, environmental regulations, and sustainable technologies.
- Proven experience in leading sustainability projects and developing sustainability strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-starting and self-sufficient.
- Professional certifications such as BREEAM, or similar are highly desirable.
- Proficiency with modelling software is desirable.
