General Foreman

Responsibilities
As a General Foreman, your key duties will include:
* Supervising and coordinating daily site operations to ensure smooth project delivery.
* Leading and motivating diverse teams, including site operatives and subcontractors.
* Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
* Monitoring project progress, quality, and productivity, and implementing adjustments as needed.
* Conducting site inspections, identifying potential issues, and resolving them promptly.
* Assisting the Site Manager with project planning, resource management, and reporting.
* Maintaining an inclusive and collaborative workplace where every team member can thrive.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who bring a combination of the following skills and experiences:
* Proven experience as a General Foreman in construction or civil engineering projects.
* Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills, with a focus on teamwork and inclusion.
* Comprehensive understanding of site safety regulations and procedures.
* Ability to read, interpret, and implement technical drawings and specifications.
* Essential: Valid CSCS card.
* Desirable: SSSTS or SMSTS certification.
* Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to successfully manage tasks under tight deadlines.
Day-to-Day Duties
On a typical day as a General Foreman, you may:
1. Conduct a morning briefing with site teams to outline the day's goals and delegate tasks.
2. Inspect active work areas to ensure safety measures are being followed and resolve any safety concerns.
3. Oversee subcontractors and operatives, ensuring adherence to quality and time schedules.
4. Review construction drawings and confirm site activities align with project plans.
5. Communicate with the Site Manager to assess project progress and report on any challenges.
6. Provide mentorship and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
7. Evaluate completed work for compliance with standards and prepare daily progress reports
