Remedial Project Manager
Sponsorship: We are willing to sponsor a visa for a candidate who meets all the criteria and is currently in Australia or has previous Australian experience
We are looking for a hands-on, quality-obsessed Project Manager to join our team in Sydney’s North Shore. This is not a "clipboard warrior" role; it is a dynamic position managing circa 20 concurrent remedial and reinstatement projects across high-net-worth residential properties.
You will be the linchpin between the site teams, the clients, and the office—keeping the "plates spinning" to ensure high-quality delivery on schedule. You will drive around to sites daily, ensuring quality control, managing logistics, and keeping our guys on-site happy and productive.
Key Responsibilities
Multi-Site Management: Oversee approximately 20 active jobs simultaneously, ranging from small repairs to large-scale reinstatements (kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, gyprock).
Site Presence: extensive travel between sites (within 20km of CBD) to supervise progress, typically managing Site Managers on larger jobs and directly overseeing smaller works.
Quality Control: Enforce strict quality standards. This is not about speed; it is about delivering remedial work to code and to a standard suitable for high-end properties.
Logistics & Procurement: Manage the ordering and logistics of materials to ensure sites are never waiting on stock.
Financial Management: Manage progress payments by verifying site completion levels ("percentage complete"), issuing progress claims, and ensuring timely payments.
Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for high-net-worth owners and strata managers. You must be able to de-escalate issues and provide clear, professional updates.
Safety & Compliance: Engage with the Health & Safety team to highlight risks and ensure all site personnel are appraised of safety details.
Team Culture: Keep the site teams motivated and working efficiently.
About You
You are a builder at heart who has moved into management. You understand how a house is put together because you have built them yourself. You can walk onto a site, spot a defect in seconds, and know exactly how to fix it.
Must Haves:
Trade Background: You must have previously worked "on the tools" (Carpentry or Building trade preferred).
Australian Experience: You must have significant experience working in the Australian construction industry. (Candidates with only overseas experience will not be considered).
Residential Specialist: You must have a background in residential projects. (Candidates with only commercial/factory experience will not be considered).
Code Knowledge: Strong understanding of the BCA/NCC and Australian Standards.
Nice to Have:
Waterproofing Background: Specific experience or deep knowledge of waterproofing would be a massive advantage.
Current Builder’s License or Carpentry License
