Senior Quantity Surveyor
Job Title: Quantity Surveyor – Modular & Mobile Healthcare Facilities
Location: UK-wide (flexible with travel, including overnight stays)
Salary: £65,000 + £5,040 depending on experience
About the Role:
This employer is a leading provider of clinical services and infrastructure, supporting healthcare clients across the UK and internationally. They design, build, and deliver purpose-built modular and mobile facilities, including Operating Theatres, Wards, Endoscopy Suites, and Decontamination & Diagnostic Units. They also provide clinical teams and equipment as part of their complete solutions.
We are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the operational delivery team. You will take joint responsibility for the financial, commercial, and contractual management of projects from post-tender handover through to final account closeout. This is a key role with significant client interaction, ensuring timely, cost-effective subcontract procurement and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage financial, commercial, and contractual aspects of projects from handover to completion.
Develop and manage the supply chain for project procurement.
Oversee factory manufacturing orders, subcontract procurement, scope analysis, tender reconciliation, contract review, and award.
Prepare, submit, and negotiate monthly subcontract interim and final accounts.
Maintain accurate Forecast Final Accounts for client reporting.
Manage variations, change orders, and claims to optimise revenue and profitability.
Prepare and present internal WIP reports at monthly Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) meetings.
Monitor and present risks and opportunities to operational and client teams.
Attend client project progress meetings and provide financial updates.
Support contract negotiation under NHS Frameworks and bespoke agreements.
Requirements:
Proven experience managing construction projects, with full accountability for commercial delivery.
Understanding of contracts within the modular rental & sale sector, including JCT and bespoke contracts.
Strong negotiation skills with clients and third parties.
Solutions-driven mindset with a customer-centric, commercial approach.
Experience managing commercial risk, including final account negotiations.
Comfortable interacting with clients and internal stakeholders at all levels.
Track record working for a Design & Build contractor with project values up to £10m.
Degree qualified or equivalent.
