Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of laboratory fit-out and refurbishment projects ranging from £1m to £10m. The successful candidate will manage two projects concurrently, supported by dedicated Site Managers overseeing day-to-day site activities on each project.
You will be the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, and supply chain partners, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget while maintaining the highest quality standards expected in laboratory environments.
Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end project delivery across two live projects, ensuring programme, cost, and quality targets are achieved.

Work closely with Site Managers to ensure consistent site performance, safety compliance, and effective subcontractor management.

Manage project budgets, commercial reporting, cost control, and change management in collaboration with the commercial team.
*
Develop detailed project programmes, monitor progress, and implement mitigation strategies where required.
*
Maintain strong client relationships, providing regular updates and addressing project risks or issues proactively.
*
Coordinate with design teams, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure technical compliance—particularly with HVAC, cleanroom, MEP, and controlled-environment requirements.

Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health & safety legislation, company procedures, and project-specific RAMS.
*
Lead progress meetings, produce project reports, and maintain accurate project documentation.
*
Uphold company values, promote continuous improvement, and contribute to high-performance project delivery.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor, ideally delivering fit-out, refurbishment, or laboratory/technical projects.
*
Strong understanding of MEP-heavy projects, technical fit-outs, or controlled-environment construction.
*
Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with contract values between £1m–£10m.
*
Excellent programme management, planning, and organisational skills.
*
Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project financials.
*
Ability to build effective relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams.
*
Confident communicator with strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
*
Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel across Oxford and the M40 corridor.
Qualifications
*
Degree or HNC/HND in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline (preferred).
*
CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications (required).
*
Project management accreditation (APM, Prince2, etc.) beneficial but not essential
