Sustainability Manager
Sector: Major Infrastructure (supporting a Tier One contractor)
We are recruiting for a Sustainability Manager to join a leading infrastructure delivery team on a major long-term project in the North West. This role offers the opportunity to influence sustainability strategy, drive environmental performance, and support project teams in delivering best practice across construction and infrastructure works.

Role Overview
The Sustainability Manager will lead on sustainability planning, compliance, and reporting across complex infrastructure projects. You'll work closely with design, construction, commercial and SHEQ teams to ensure sustainability objectives are integrated throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement project-specific sustainability strategies and plans
Provide technical guidance on carbon reduction, materials, waste management, and environmental impact
Lead sustainability reporting, audits, and compliance with environmental standards
Monitor performance against KPIs and support continuous improvement initiatives
Work with design and delivery teams to embed sustainable solutions and innovations
Support stakeholder engagement, client reporting, and external assessments
Ensure alignment with national and project-specific sustainability frameworks and policiesSkills & Experience

Proven experience as a Sustainability Manager or similar within construction or major infrastructure
Strong understanding of environmental legislation, carbon management, waste, materials, and ESG principles
Experience delivering sustainability plans on complex or high-security infrastructure projects
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Relevant degree or professional qualification in sustainability, environmental management, or similar
Ability to satisfy security vetting requirements linked to high-security infrastructure environmentsThis role requires the ability to satisfy security vetting processes linked to high-security infrastructure environments.
