About Our Client

We are proud to be representing a highly regarded civil engineering consultancy with a strong presence across highways, rail, water, and power. Following significant project wins and continued growth, our client is expanding their commercial and project teams and is seeking multiple Senior Quantity Surveyors to join their organisation.

A unique aspect of their business is that they second their QS professionals to some of the UK’s top 250 contractors, giving individuals direct exposure to client-side operations, high-profile projects, and opportunities to influence major infrastructure programmes.

The Role

Our client is looking for experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors to provide commercial and contractual support on complex civil engineering projects. Successful candidates will be seconded to leading contractor teams, offering exceptional client-side experience and career development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage quantity surveying activities on major civil engineering projects
Prepare cost plans, estimates, and forecasts
Manage contracts (NEC and other standard forms), ensuring compliance and risk mitigation
Provide commercial advice to project teams, clients, and contractors
Support procurement, subcontractor management, and value engineering initiatives
Identify and manage risks, claims, and variations
Contribute to reporting, project audits, and financial control

What Our Client Is Looking For
Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor in civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts (essential) and other industry-standard frameworks
Experience in cost management, risk management, and commercial reporting on major projects
Exposure to at least one sector: highways, rail, water, or power
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills
Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
Professional accreditation (RICS/CICES) preferred
