Building Services Manager – Main Contractor – Oxfordshire
We are working alongside a well-established Oxfordshire-based Main Contractor who are actively seeking an experienced Building Services Manager to join their growing team. This is a key strategic role, responsible for driving technical excellence, improving building services capability, and supporting both pre-construction and project delivery teams across a varied and exciting portfolio of work.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Services professional with strong M&E knowledge, leadership ability, and the confidence to influence best practice across the business.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead a Building Services support function that strengthens technical capability across the business.

Drive improvements in Building Services knowledge and skills, supporting training, upskilling and development initiatives.
*
Collaborate closely with estimators, pre-construction teams and project delivery staff to review drawings, specifications, and design information.
*
Ensure all M&E proposals meet client requirements, regulatory compliance, and industry best practice.
*
Provide technical advice that clearly communicates the wider project impact of Building Services decisions.
*
Offer analytical insight into construction progress, installation quality, and health & safety standards.
*
Maintain awareness of industry developments, new technologies, and innovation within the Building Services sector.
*
Support BIM development and contribute proactively to BIM integration throughout the business.
*
Prepare and deliver internal and external presentations, engaging confidently with clients and key stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
*
Strong background in Building Services or M&E Engineering within a contractor environment.
*
Proven experience at senior management level with excellent leadership skills.
*
Demonstrable track record of delivering successful Building Services outcomes through effective team management.
*
Mechanical design and/or mechanical construction background.
*
Pre-construction experience highly advantageous.
*
Strong understanding of Building Services commissioning processes, including how commissioning activities are programmed and coordinated.

Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills.
*
Good understanding of BIM processes and digital construction methods.
*
Detail-focused, proactive, and able to challenge and guide decision-making with confidence.
