Salary: £43,000 – £46,200

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Surveyor to join our front-line team. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting buildings, assessing their condition, and providing expert advice on construction, maintenance, and repair. The client ensures that their clients are at the heart of everything they do, so surveyors who are willing to roll their sleeves up and approach the role with a can-do attitude are essential in this position, as no two days are the same.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed inspections of buildings and structures to assess their condition and identify any defects or issues.
- Prepare comprehensive reports outlining findings, recommendations, and cost estimates for repairs or improvements.
- Advise clients on property maintenance, renovation, and construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with building regulations, codes, and safety standards.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, contractors, and other professionals to develop and implement building projects.
- Manage and oversee construction and renovation projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Provide expert witness services in legal disputes related to building defects or construction issues.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Professional certification or membership with a recognised surveying or construction body (e.g., RICS, CIOB).
- Proven experience as a Building Surveyor or in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building regulations, codes, and construction practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using surveying and construction software.
