About the Opportunity
A growing facilities management provider is looking for a skilled Fabric Engineer to join their mobile team covering the Rochester/Dartford area. This is a hands-on role, perfect for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality maintenance services to key clients.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver exceptional maintenance services to high-profile clients, ensuring the highest standards of workmanship.
* Solve complex technical problems using your initiative, including sourcing parts and seeking manufacturer support.
* Record detailed write-ups of all work completed to keep clients fully informed.
* Complete all tasks within agreed timescales, complying with regulations and contract specifications.
* Maintain accurate reporting and records, including operation and maintenance logs and control measures.
* Use PDAs or electronic devices to manage and report work.
* Liaise closely with the Helpdesk to ensure efficient job response, either independently or as part of a team.
* Observe strict health and safety practices, carrying out risk assessments for every task.
* Represent the organisation professionally when dealing with clients on-site.
* Respond to out-of-hours call-outs across all contracts as required.

Essential:
* Relevant trade qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3).
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in building maintenance, particularly reactive and remedial tasks.
* Broad knowledge of building systems, including carpentry, wet trades, minor plumbing, tiling, and ground works.
* Current full UK driver’s license.
* Customer-focused attitude with practical problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills as a key point of contact.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
* Collaborative team approach.
Desirable:
* FDIS or equivalent fire door qualification.
* Fire compartmentation experience.
* IOSH – Working Safely or CSCS card.
* IT proficiency with PDAs.
* Asbestos awareness training (UKATA).
* CSR/CSCS Health & Safety qualification
