Assistant Quantity Surveyor
A well-established and highly respected independent cost consultancy is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in Central London. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor to gain exposure across a variety of exciting projects, including commercial developments, industrial sheds, education, and healthcare schemes.
The successful Assistant Quantity Surveyor will work alongside experienced senior professionals, supporting the delivery of full pre- and post-contract cost management services. With strong mentorship and access to high-profile clients, this role provides a solid pathway to achieving chartership and advancing your career within a collaborative and professional environment.
This opportunity is ideally suited to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor who has already gained some consultancy experience and is now looking to develop technical knowledge, expand sector exposure, and progress within a supportive and forward-thinking business.
Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities:
Supporting cost planning, measurement, and tender documentation
Assisting in procurement, contract administration, and reporting
Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts
Engaging with clients, contractors, and design teams
Providing input on value engineering and cost-saving strategies
Supporting senior staff on multiple concurrent projectsAssistant Quantity Surveyor – Candidate Requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (RICS accredited preferred)
1-3 years' experience in a UK consultancy environment
Working towards or interested in pursuing APC and MRICS status
Good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
Strong communication, numeracy, and organisational skills
Enthusiastic team player with a proactive attitudeIn Return:
Salary £35,000 – £45,000 (dependent on experience)
