A client within the Public Sector based in Warrington is currently recruiting for a Clerk of Works to join their Transport for Warrington – Traffic Management, Road Safety & Highway Adoptions Team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways / civil engineering environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to oversee and inspect highway and civil engineering schemes to ensure required standards, specifications, and health & safety requirements are met.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Supervising highway and civil engineering works, ensuring compliance with specifications and health & safety legislation
• Maintaining accurate site records including work activities, progress, and constraints
• Ensuring all construction works meet required quality standards and British Standards
• Liaising with contractors, sub-contractors, stakeholders, and statutory undertakers
• Identifying defects, ensuring rectification, and assisting with contract changes and payment certification

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:
• Experience supervising highways or civil engineering construction projects
• Knowledge of British Standards, construction specifications, and health & safety legislation
• Experience working within a local authority or similar public sector environment
The below skills would be beneficial for the role:
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills
• Ability to maintain accurate site documentation
• Competence in interpreting technical drawings and specifications

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £42 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £32 per hour PAYE).
