CIVIL ENGINEERING ESTIMATOR – New Lanark, SCOTLAND | £55,000 TO £80,000 DOE | FULL-TIME – PERMANENT
Immediate opening for an experienced Civil Engineering Estimator to join a growing civils and infrastructure division. This Civil Engineering Estimator role suits someone with strong experience pricing earthworks, drainage and general civil engineering works. A great opportunity for a proactive Civil Engineering Estimator seeking long-term progression. Ideal for a committed Civil Engineering Estimator with strong estimating capability. Rail experience is desirable but not essential.
Role Overview
Prepare accurate estimates and costings for civil engineering projects including earthworks, drainage, structures and associated works. Support tender submissions, analyse risks and provide commercially reliable pricing. Exposure to rail infrastructure works is beneficial but not required.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare estimates for civil engineering works including earthworks and drainage
*
Analyse drawings, specifications and technical documents
*
Produce take-offs, quantities and cost breakdowns
*
Liaise with engineering, delivery and commercial teams
*
Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
*
Identify project risks and opportunities
*
Prepare tender submissions and participate in tender reviews
*
Support handover to delivery teams
*
Attend client/stakeholder meetings to clarify tender issues
*
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and cost planning
*
Support value engineering and cost-saving alternatives
*
Ensure estimates are technically compliant and commercially viable
*
Provide estimating input on rail-related works where applicable (desirable, not essential)
Skills & Experience
*
Proven experience as a Civil Engineering Estimator
*
Rail civils experience desirable but not essential
*
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
*
Strong analytical and commercial skills
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement
*
Experience within civils, infrastructure or related sectors preferred
