Job Title: Construction Site Manager

Location: Lancaster

Employment Type: Full-time (Fixed Term: January 2026 – July 2026 est.)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Construction Site Manager to oversee daily site operations in Lancaster. This role requires excellent leadership, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to confidently communicate with tenants, subcontractors, and clients. The ideal candidate will have a solid H&S background and the ability to build positive working relationships onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day site activities and workforce coordination

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, tenants, and project stakeholders

• Build and maintain strong rapport with clients and onsite tenants

• Ensure works are carried out safely, on schedule, and to specification

• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce compliance with H&S standards

• Prepare and maintain site records, including RAMS and daily logs

• Deliver clear communication and manage expectations across all parties

• Lead site meetings and provide direction to onsite personnel

• Monitor progress and report updates to senior management

• Assist with procurement planning and resource allocation

• Ensure quality control and adherence to technical and contractual requirements

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Valid SSSTS certification

• CSCS card (essential)

• First Aid trained

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to engage with tenants and nurture positive client relationships

• Experience in construction site supervision/management

• Sound understanding of construction processes and building regulations

• Ability to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively

• Competency in reading and interpreting technical drawings

• IT-literate (e.g., MS Office, site reporting software)

Desirable (not essential):

* SMSTS qualification

* Experience in refurbishment in Listed/Heritage buildings

* Knowledge of project management techniques

* Knowledge and experience of Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Works
