About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and persuasive Bid Writer to join our Planned Maintenance division. This is a pivotal role where you will shape winning proposals that secure new opportunities and strengthen our reputation in the construction and social housing maintenance sectors.
As the voice behind our submissions, you’ll craft compelling narratives, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure every bid reflects technical excellence, innovation, and social value.
Key Responsibilities:
Proposal Writing: Produce high-quality, persuasive submissions and presentations that exceed client expectations.
Collaboration: Lead tender launch meetings, coordinate input from multiple departments, and ensure milestones are met.
Win Themes: Identify and embed clear win themes that demonstrate a deep understanding of client needs.
Risk Assessment: Highlight potential risks and work with teams to develop effective mitigation strategies.
Compliance: Ensure all bids meet regulatory standards and client requirements.
Post-Submission Engagement: Organise debriefs with clients to capture feedback and drive continuous improvement.
Business Development: Support marketing initiatives, attend industry events, and contribute to brand positioning.
Person Specification:
Degree (or equivalent professional experience), ideally in a writing-based subject.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in bid management, ideally within construction or social housing maintenance.
Strong understanding of social housing procurement processes, government policies, and sector trends.
Familiarity with sustainability, community impact, and social value in housing maintenance.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a flair for persuasive copy.
Strong presentation and influencing skills to engage clients and stakeholders.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Strategic vision to assess long-term market trends and opportunities.
Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe InDesign, and Acrobat.
Awareness of AI tools and their potential in bid writing.
