Graduate / Intermediate Building Surveyor

A growing, forward-thinking building consultancy is seeking a Graduate or Intermediate Building Surveyor to join its team in Waterloo, London. The practice specialises in bespoke services for the property sector, with a strong reputation for technical expertise, clear communication and high-quality advice. Projects are predominantly within the residential market across London and the Home Counties.

The Role

You’ll work closely with senior surveyors while quickly taking on your own responsibilities. Your week could include:

*

Carrying out building surveys, inspections and defect diagnosis

*

Completing desktop research and reviewing existing information

*

Preparing clear, well-structured reports with findings and recommendations

*

Acting as Contract Administrator on fit-out and refurbishment schemes (typically up to ~£3.5m)

*

Assisting with Licences for Alterations, Party Wall matters and Reinstatement Cost Assessments

*

Providing support on insurance reinstatement works, Section 20 projects and planned maintenance

*

Helping to prepare specifications, tender documents, drawings and cost estimates

*

Liaising with clients, consultants, contractors and other stakeholders

*

Keeping project records up to date and assisting with portfolio coordination

APC Support & Professional Development

This role is ideal for someone working towards RICS chartership. You’ll receive:

About You

You should:

*

Hold a RICS-accredited Building Surveying degree (or equivalent)

*

Be confident using Word and Excel, with strong written communication skills

*

Be professional, clear and confident when communicating

*

Work well both within a team and independently

*

Be proactive, ambitious and committed to your development

*

Have strong attention to detail, good time-management and problem-solving skills

*

Be organised, willing to learn and focused on achieving Chartered status

Some industry experience (placements, internships) and AutoCAD skills are advantageous but not essential.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car is desirable.

Package

Salary: £28,500 – £45,000 (DOE)

Bonus: Discretionary, linked to company performance
