About the role
The Assistant Estimator will support the estimating team in pricing commercial fit-out and refurbishment projects from initial enquiry through to tender submission. Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with the preparation of accurate cost estimates, take-offs and tender documentation.

Reviewing drawings, specifications and client requirements to understand project scope.

Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive quotations and ensure accurate pricing.
*
Analysing subcontractor returns and preparing comparison sheets.
*
Helping to identify value-engineering opportunities and potential risks within tender proposals.
*
Supporting senior estimators with bid preparation, tender queries and handover packs.
*
Maintaining organised records, cost databases and pricing libraries to support future tenders.

Requirements
*
Previous experience in an estimating or construction support role is desirable, ideally within fit-out, refurbishment or a related sector.
*
Strong numerical and analytical skills with good attention to detail.
*
Ability to read and interpret drawings and technical documents.
*
Confidence in communicating with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams.
*
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
*
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with estimating software is beneficial but not essential.
*
A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop within the role
