Overview

Our client is seeking a driven and organised Assistant Project Co-ordinator to join their Pre-Construction team. This role plays a key part in supporting the successful planning and design development of projects, ensuring all information is delivered on time, within budget, and compliant with statutory and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities of the Assistant Project Co-ordinator

Pre-Construction & Design Coordination

Support and assist in the design development process, ensuring buildability and value engineering considerations are fully assessed.

Lead and coordinate tender launch meetings when required, ensuring all information issued aligns with Employer's Requirements and minimises risk.

Prepare contractors' proposals with clear, accurate, and compliant information.

Programme, Documentation & Approvals

Create and maintain design programmes to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-effective information flow.

Assist in preparing consultant scopes of service to ensure the correct level of detail is provided for each project.

Secure and process competitive quotations from consultants, utility providers, and Local Authorities for accurate fee schedules.

Progress planning condition approvals, building regulations applications, and statutory consents to eliminate project risks.

Obtain technical approvals for sectional agreements promptly.

Internal & External Coordination

Collaborate closely with Pre-Construction and Production teams to resolve design queries quickly and thoroughly.

Build strong relationships with internal teams, consultants, and site personnel by spending appropriate time on site.

Act as a key link in turning raw technical data into usable, accurate project information.

Assist with the preparation of 'as-built' documentation and handover information upon project completion.

Person Specification

IT proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Currently working towards construction or building-related qualifications.

Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a proactive attitude.

Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Desirable:

Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

A good understanding of construction technology.

Basic experience with Power Projects (or similar programming software).

Commercial awareness and an interest in cost and value management
