About the Opportunity

Our client is a well-established and highly respected main contractor delivering a diverse range of projects including refurbishments, fit-outs, conversions, heritage works, structural repairs, new builds and planned maintenance programmes. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive, commercially-minded QS who enjoys variety, responsibility and the chance to work on technically interesting and high-quality projects.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare cost estimates, cost plans and bills of quantities for refurbishment, fit-out, conversion and new-build projects

*

Manage budgets, forecasts and financial reporting throughout project lifecycles

*

Lead procurement of subcontractors and specialist trades, including tender analysis and negotiation

*

Manage valuations, variations and payments in line with contract requirements

*

Contribute to risk management, value engineering and cost-control strategies

*

Work closely with project managers, site teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

*

Support the commercial team across cyclical maintenance works and heritage building refurbishments where required

About You

*

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting or specialist refurbishment/fit-out environment

*

Strong understanding of commercial management, contract administration and construction processes

*

Experience with refurbishment, conversion or heritage projects is highly desirable

*

Confident managing multiple projects simultaneously

*

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills

*

A positive, proactive and solution-focused approach

Salary & Benefits

*

£65,000 – £80,000 (dependent on experience)

*

Pension: 5% employer contribution

*

Holidays: 22 days + public holidays

*

Increases by 1 day per year after 3 years’ service, up to a maximum of 25 days
