About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Health, Safety and Environmental Manager to join a well-established UK leader in building-envelope solutions, specialising in the design, manufacture, supply and installation of metal roofing, wall cladding and façade systems. Operating across sectors such as logistics, warehousing, retail, education and public buildings that delivers complete project support from initial technical design and product manufacture through to on-site installation, refurbishment and long-term maintenance.
We are looking for someone to serve as the regional focal point, driving continuous improvement, compliance, and a build a strong safety culture across all operations. There can be up to 12 projects at one point, which the main role for this candidate is to ensure that Health and Safety standards are kept over all sites under their watch as well as regular communication and relationship building with senior level people within the contractors they will be working with.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and implement comprehensive HSE policies and procedures across all operating companies
Oversee Health and Safety matters to ensure that company protocols are strictly adhered to and effectively communicated to relevant personnel
Conduct risk assessments, audits and investigate all accidents, incidents, and near misses
Collaborate with management to develop corrective action plans and set objectives for continuous safety improvement
Liaise with the Health & Safety Executive and company insurers as necessary
Conduct site visits to verify compliance with both Company and Main Contractor policies advising the Board on all HSE-related matters
Chair the Company’s Health & Safety Committee meetings
Deliver training to employees and sub-contractors, ensuring accurate record-keeping
Manage the Company Safety Management System and maintain relevant accreditations
Prepare management reports and key performance statistics as required
Address environmental concerns in accordance with regulations
Fulfil any other reasonable duties as appropriate to the role, as assigned or directed by Senior ManagementPerson Specification:
Demonstrable experience in construction and working with contractors/sun-contractors
NEBOSH General Certificate or Construction (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of CDM and HSE regulations.
Comfortable leading investigations and guiding site teams on best practice.
