Assistant Quantity Surveyor Role:
Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-driven Junior/Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial team on high-end residential projects. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or someone with up to 3 years’ industry experience, including placements or work on high-spec residential schemes. You will work closely with a Senior QS, gaining hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist Senior QS in managing commercial aspects across one or two projects
* Assistance with managing subcontractor accounts, including procurement, valuations, payments and final accounts
* Help in the preparation, assessment, and negotiation of variations
* Assist in cost reporting and forecasting to ensure accurate project financials
* Contribute to tendering processes and documentation
* Maintain accurate records, measurement, and project documentation
* Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to support commercial delivery
* Conduct site visits to monitor progress and assist with valuations
Required Experience & Qualifications for the Assistant Quantity Surveyor:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
* Minimum of 2-3 experience, including industrial placement, within high-end residential construction
* Understanding of construction contracts, cost management, and commercial processes
* Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
* Proficient with MS Excel and relevant QS software
* Strong communication skills and willingness to learn under guidance of a Senior QS
