HAYS Architecture & Design NI are proud to be working in collaboration with an esteemed multinational construction, property & management consultancy in their search for a Senior Architectural Technologist (Chartered) to become a pivotal part of their Belfast Office. Their Northern Irish team are a well-established cohort of consultants who pride themselves on providing outstanding project delivery to a range of clientele within both the public and private sectors, from SMEs to large, blue-chip corporations.
You’ll join their dedicated team proactively managing and undertaking surveys, formulating designs and specifications, administrating projects and programmes and additionally, various other bespoke surveys to ensure client’s estates / properties / project schemes are well maintained & managed, and achieve their full potential.
This is an eye-catching position for experienced Technologists to make a move away from traditional practice, into a relatively small office within a well-networked, multi-national organisation with sincere growth potential.
Your new role
Working within the company’s Building Surveying team, you’ll lead a team of 3 Architectural Technologists, with a wider pool of circa 12 within a geographic region where deadlines / workload require. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Produce Site plans, elevations, sections and planning information in order to submit detailed planning applications.
- Working as part of the Design service offering within the Building Surveying team, assisting team members with general design requirements, including preparation of space plans, technical drawings, and measured surveys
- Produce construction information across all RIBA Stages including; technical details, specifications and schedules of work.
- Liaise with Mechanical, Electrical and Structural engineers to agree and develop design solutions.
- Ensure all design work is compliant with the company’s design standards, including setting out/presentation of drawings and layering.
- Effectively manage information issue and revision through the use of drawing registers and online document management systems.
- Assist with ensuring the company’s design standards are in accordance with relevant British Standards, Legislation and design codes.
- Actively contribute to the organisation’s UK business, sharing knowledge promoting ideas and innovation to constantly improve our design services
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be a Chartered Architectural Technologist (or an experienced Technologist willing to work towards going through your MCIAT process), committed to delivering the highest level of customer service excellence & commercial results. You’ll have previous experience working as an Architectural Technologist, ideally at a senior level, within a Practice / Consultancy environment. You have the ability to work in a professional / courteous manner with expectant clients, have a strong technical background and be proficient in the use of 2D / 3D AutoCAD (with wider Revit 3D abilities advantageous).
You’ll have a depth of understanding and knowledge of NI / UK Building Regulations & planning processes, with a well-organised, diligent, proactive and assertive approach to design / workload. You should be a team player, with strong communication and presentation skills, and the ambition to push yourself to continually improve & develop.
What you’ll get in return
A full-time Senior Architectural Technologist position within the thriving Belfast Office of a well-established, multi-national consultancy. The position commands an attractive package of circa £45,000 – £55,000, with a wide range of additional perks / benefits (can be disclosed upon application).
