The Opportunity
A leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Civils Project Manager to support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of major capital and planned maintenance projects for National Grid across the Midlands.
This is a key role within a well-established framework, offering long-term security, technically challenging work, and the opportunity to lead projects critical to the UK’s infrastructure and energy network.
Key Responsibilities
*
End-to-end management of civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion
*
Delivery of works safely, on time, within budget, and to required quality standards
*
Management of project teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners
*
Client liaison with National Grid and other key stakeholders
*
Financial control, forecasting, and reporting
*
Ensuring compliance with SHEQ standards and company procedures
*
Supporting continuous improvement and best practice across the framework
About You
*
Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering
*
Background delivering projects within utilities, power, highways, or major infrastructure
*
Experience working for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
*
Strong commercial awareness and leadership skills
*
SMSTS, CSCS (Black or Gold), and relevant engineering or construction qualification preferred
*
Experience working on National Grid or similar utility frameworks is highly desirable
