Role Overview:

As a Project Manager at, you will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of commercial office fit-out projects from start to finish. Your role will involve managing both the technical and operational aspects of the project, ensuring that the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a candidate with a traditional construction background, capable of managing projects within the £1 million to £5 million range, and someone who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Manage and lead commercial office fit-out projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, architects, and internal teams, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

Project Planning: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, schedules, resources, and budgets. Ensure that all project milestones and deliverables are met.

Budget Management: Control project costs, track expenditures, and report on financial performance. Ensure that projects remain within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Team Coordination: Oversee the day-to-day activities of project teams, including subcontractors and suppliers. Ensure work is completed to the highest standards, and address any issues or delays promptly.

Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site, proactively managing risks and ensuring a safe working environment.

Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality and accuracy in all project deliverables, including finishes, installations, and final handovers.

Problem Solving: Identify potential issues and risks early, proactively implementing solutions to mitigate impact on project timelines and budgets.

Reporting: Provide regular updates on project status, including progress reports, issue logs, and performance metrics to senior management and clients.

Key Requirements:

Proven Experience as a Project Manager in the construction industry, specifically with a focus on commercial office fit-out projects valued between £1 million and £5 million.

Strong background in traditional construction practices and methods.

Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, risk management, and team leadership.

CSCS card, SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme), and other relevant qualifications.

Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asta Powerproject) and MS Office Suite.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and delivering high-quality results.

In-depth understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices within construction.

A solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving with the ability to manage conflicts and resolve issues promptly.

Desirable:

Degree in Construction Management or a related discipline.

Previous experience working on large-scale office fit-out projects.

Knowledge of sustainable building practices and environmental considerations in construction projects.

Understanding of the latest trends and technologies within the office fit-out industry.

Familiarity with Building Information Modelling (BIM) or similar software.
