Senior Project Manager
A well-established, independent construction and property consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join their Manchester team. This opportunity would suit a Senior Project Manager who is comfortable leading projects, managing client relationships and taking ownership of schemes from early instruction through to completion. The successful Senior Project Manager will play a key role in delivering high-quality projects across the North West while supporting the continued growth of the Manchester office.
This consultancy has built a strong reputation for practical, commercially driven project delivery and long-standing client relationships. With a diverse workload across multiple sectors, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Project Manager who can operate with autonomy and add value from day one.
The Senior Project Manager Role
The appointed Senior Project Manager will be responsible for leading the delivery of projects across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, education and mixed-use developments. Projects range in size and complexity, offering the Senior Project Manager a varied and engaging workload.
This role provides the Senior Project Manager with significant client exposure, responsibility for consultant teams, and the opportunity to mentor junior colleagues within a collaborative consultancy environment.
Duties of the Senior Project Manager to include:
Leading the day-to-day delivery of projects as the appointed Senior Project Manager
Managing projects from feasibility, design and procurement through construction and handover
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, maintaining and developing relationships
Coordinating and leading multi-disciplinary consultant teams
Managing project programmes, risk registers and reporting requirements
Chairing project, design team and site meetings
Overseeing contractor performance against programme, cost and quality benchmarks
Providing strategic advice to clients on procurement routes and delivery strategies
Supporting and mentoring Project Managers and junior staff
Contributing to repeat business and long-term client relationships
The Person?
The successful Senior Project Manager will have a strong consultancy or client-side background and will be confident operating in a client-facing role. The Senior Project Manager will ideally demonstrate:
Proven experience working as a Senior Project Manager within construction or consultancy
Strong understanding of construction processes and project delivery
Experience managing projects across multiple sectors
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
The ability to lead teams and manage multiple workstreams
A commercially aware and solutions-focused approach
Working towards, or already holding, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS or APM
