About our Client
My client is a Building envelope specialist sub-contractor who works new build market. They work on projects up to £4million in value. They have an excellent reputation within this sector and are actively looking for a Planner to join their team.
Duties & Responsibilities
Attend client meetings and build working relationship as a key represent of the business and develop those relationships by offering time and support around variations and applications.
Be able to work with different departments of the company structure, ensuring that there is continuity of the commercial process, accountability and support.
Be fully self-sufficient in managing budgets, ensuring accurate cost forecasting and control throughout the project life cycle.
Conduct detailed cost analysis, not only with contract budgets, but also deviations from the baseline contract, ensuring that any changes optimise the strategy Primeseal intend to deliver the works.
Competent in working on multiple projects, with several points of contact at any one time and understanding that a positive cashflow and profit margin is integral to the success of the projects.
Develop trainees in commercial duties, including setting objectives and reviewing works, to grow both commercial and construction knowledge, whilst aspiring them to achieve roles and responsibilities of their job title.
Recognise change from the baseline contract, whether that be sequence of work, programme or scope and assess them as part of the delivery team and record with the client in a timely manner.
Issue applications and variations in a timely manner, giving client a clear opportunity to review information and make the appropriate decision.
Provide both internal and external cashflows for each project, the external cashflow should be provided at contract award, to ensure the wider business understands how the project impacts the business.
Work to a monthly timescale to produce cost, value reconciliations (CVR’s) and present them upstream to line managers, highlighting any key risks or opportunities.
Deal with the supply chain, including but not fully exhaustive to, obtaining quotations, negotiating works, producing subcontract orders in a timely manner, managing subcontract accounts, promptly assessing and authorising payments, forecasting supply chains packages and negotiating final accounts.
Chair meetings and take appropriate minutes where necessary
