Quantity Surveyor – South London
A respected and growing construction consultancy is looking to appoint a proactive Quantity Surveyor to join their team, delivering a broad mix of residential, commercial, and public sector projects across London and the South East. This is a client-facing, consultancy-side position offering strong progression, hands-on project involvement, and flexible working arrangements.
With a healthy pipeline of housing, education, and refurbishment schemes, this opportunity is well-suited to a Quantity Surveyor with at least 5 years' experience who can confidently manage cost, procurement, and contract administration from design through to delivery.
Quantity Surveyor – The Role
The successful Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing detailed cost plans, managing procurement processes, and overseeing contract administration. The role will involve working closely with project managers, clients, and contractors to ensure commercial control, value for money, and accurate cost reporting throughout each stage of the project.
The Quantity Surveyor will also support junior staff and play a key role in maintaining quality standards across multiple schemes.
Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage project cost plans and estimates
Prepare and issue financial reports and cost forecasts
Lead contractor procurement and evaluate tender returns
Support contract preparation and administration (JCT/NEC)
Monitor change control and advise on risks and variations
Liaise with clients and project teams to provide commercial guidance
Assist in mentoring junior team members where appropriateQuantity Surveyor – Candidate Requirements
Minimum 5 years' consultancy or client-side experience
Strong knowledge of both pre- and post-contract work
Residential and public sector project exposure preferred
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
MRICS or working towards chartership (preferred)In Return
Salary of £45,000 – £55,000 (depending on experience)
