Project Manager
A specialist construction and property consultancy is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their London team. This role would suit a Project Manager with proven experience delivering refurbishment and cladding works who is comfortable operating in a client-facing environment. The successful Project Manager will take responsibility for complex, high-risk projects, and this Project Manager will work closely with clients, contractors and consultant teams to ensure safe and compliant delivery.
This consultancy has developed a strong reputation for delivering technically challenging refurbishment and external envelope projects across London. Due to an increasing pipeline of cladding remediation and major refurbishment works, they are now looking to appoint a Project Manager with the technical understanding and confidence to lead these schemes from instruction through to completion.
The Project Manager Role
The appointed Project Manager will be responsible for managing refurbishment and cladding projects on occupied and operational buildings. Projects often involve multiple stakeholders and stringent regulatory requirements, requiring a Project Manager who understands risk, compliance and detailed construction sequencing.
This role offers the Project Manager significant responsibility, exposure to complex schemes, and the opportunity to develop specialist expertise within a growing area of the market.
Duties of the Project Manager to include:
Leading the day-to-day delivery of refurbishment and cladding projects as the appointed Project Manager
Managing projects from early feasibility through design development, procurement, construction and handover
Coordinating consultant teams including façade engineers, fire consultants and specialist contractors
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, residents and stakeholders
Managing project programmes, risk registers and reporting requirements
Overseeing compliance with Building Regulations, fire safety guidance and statutory requirements
Chairing project, design team and site meetings, issuing clear actions
Monitoring contractor performance against programme, cost and quality benchmarks
Ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly and in line with agreed objectives
The Person?
The successful Project Manager will have a strong background in refurbishment and external envelope works. The Project Manager will ideally demonstrate:
Proven experience working as a Project Manager on refurbishment and/or cladding projects
Strong understanding of external wall systems, façade works and remediation schemes
Experience working in a client-facing consultancy or contractor environment
Confidence managing high-risk, technically complex projects
Strong communication skills, particularly when dealing with residents and stakeholders
Knowledge of fire safety and regulatory compliance is highly advantageous
Working towards, or holding, a relevant professional qualification such as RICS, APM or similar
