The right candidate will be self-driven, solutions focused, and capable of leading Health and Safety initiatives across multiple sites. This is a rare opportunity for a Health and Safety professional who wants autonomy, influence, and the chance to create a lasting impact on a small, forward-thinking construction business.
Role Overview:

* Conduct site inspections, audits, and reviews of RAMS to ensure compliance and best practice.
* Review, create, and continually improve risk assessments and standard operating procedures.
* Provide practical and strategic Health and Safety advice to senior management and site teams.
* Shape and influence the overall safety culture across the business, ensuring Health and Safety is integrated into all operations.
* Collaborate with external consultants where necessary, while retaining overall internal control of safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement and maintain effective management systems and safe systems of work.
* Lead audits, inspections, and compliance checks across multiple sites.
* Monitor, report, and advise on Health and Safety performance metrics.
* Develop and deliver site-specific Health and Safety training as required.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
* Act as the primary point of contact for Health and Safety queries, issues, and investigations.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience managing Health and Safety in a construction or similar hands-on environment.
* Strong knowledge of management systems, risk assessment methodology, and safe systems of work.
* Ability to work independently and take full ownership of the role.
* Proactive mindset with the confidence to challenge and influence colleagues at all levels.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills, capable of engaging with both site teams and senior management.
* Based within reasonable travel distance of the Midlands and Hertfordshire.
Salary & Package:
* Circa £60,000 + package depending on experience and capability.
* Opportunity to make a tangible impact and lead change across the business
