Your new role
Our client is seeking a Freelance Technical Manager to provide technical oversight and support across a portfolio of civils and infrastructure projects. You will ensure designs meet required standards, resolve technical challenges, and support project teams in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.
Responsibilities will include:
Provide technical leadership and guidance across multiple projects.
Review and approve designs, drawings, method statements, and technical submissions.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company quality requirements.
Support project teams in resolving technical issues on-site and in design coordination.
Collaborate with clients, design teams, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Mentor and support junior technical staff where required.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and technical innovation.
Produce accurate technical reports and maintain clear project documentation.
What you will need to succeed:
Proven experience as a Technical Manager, Senior Engineer, or similar in civil engineering, infrastructure, or utilities projects.
Strong technical knowledge of civils, groundworks, or utilities construction.
Ability to read, interpret, and challenge designs and drawings.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience leading or supporting project teams and mentoring technical staff.
Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent professional qualification.
Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and health & safety practices.
