The Company
A reputable main contractor with a strong regional presence is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. The business operates across Industrial, Logistics, Commercial, and Residential sectors, delivering high-quality projects for a variety of clients. The Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will support Senior and Quantity Surveyors in the commercial management of live construction projects. This is a blended role involving office-based tasks alongside site visits, giving you hands-on experience in contract administration and cost control. You will be involved in measuring, reporting, and supporting the financial aspects of projects under the guidance of senior commercial staff.

Key Responsibilities
* Assisting with measurement and preparation of valuations
* Supporting cost control and reporting processes
* Assisting with subcontractor procurement and enquiries
* Supporting the preparation of variations, certificates, and accruals
* Monitoring project progress and costs in coordination with site teams
* Administration of JCT and NEC contracts
* Maintaining accurate records and commercial documentation
* Supporting Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Managers in commercial tasks

About You

Experience and Skills
* Some experience in a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction (main contractor experience preferred but not essential)
* Knowledge of basic measurement and cost control processes
* Familiarity with JCT or NEC contracts desirable
* Good IT skills, including Excel and commercial systems
* Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or Construction-related discipline (desirable but not essential)
