UK Project Manager – Retail Fit-outs and Construction

Your Voice CVs

OVERVIEW
Our Danish client is expanding into the UK and needs a senior Project Manager with a track record in retail fit-outs. There’s a confirmed pipeline of work, growing demand from existing customers, and the opportunity to shape how projects are delivered in the UK.
This role suits someone who enjoys autonomy, takes ownership, and is comfortable being the key UK representative, with clear support from a highly experienced international team. The onboarding process will be conducted in the UK and Denmark.
You can be based anywhere within a broad square between London, Bristol, Manchester and Leeds, with travel to sites as required.
THE COMPANY
The business is a well-established international retail and hospitality fit-out specialist, operating across Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. Their success is built on long-term customer relationships, high standards of design and delivery, and an ability to adapt quickly when markets move.
They are now committed to growing their presence in the UK and need someone who can represent them professionally with customers, suppliers and design partners.
THE JOB
You’ll manage end-to-end delivery of retail interior and fit-out projects, working directly with large retail clients, your own (Danish-based) colleagues, as well as designers, architects, and the supply chain to ensure projects land on time, on budget and to the right standard.
Key expectations:
* Lead multiple retail fit-out projects from design development through to completion.
* Build trusted relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
* Manage the entire building administration, contract management and project follow-up.
* Coordinate materials, logistics, installation and on-site activity.
* Spot risks early and keep communication clear and consistent.
* Maintain disciplined commercial and cost control.
* Represent the company professionally as the senior person in the UK.
* Work closely with Danish colleagues to ensure standards, processes and reporting are aligned.
* Significant levels of travel for site surveys and meeting with clients and contractors . We estimate that may include 3 or 4 nights away per month.
Non-negotiables:
* Solid experience delivering multi-site retail interior / shopfitting / branded environment projects.
* Confident dealing with architects, designers, specifiers and supply-chain partners.
* Capable of working independently with remote support structures.
* Clear communicator, steady under pressure, and disciplined in planning and follow-through.
SALARY PACKAGE
A competitive package is available for the right person. As a guide, base salary is likely to be in the high £60k’s – and the details can be shaped around the individual.
THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS
We’re handling this UK search directly on behalf of the client’s Danish-based headhunter. Shortlisted candidates will have a short informal call with me first, followed by a structured conversation with the Danish headhunter, who will make the introductions.
We will move at pace – please apply as soon as possible.
