Divisional Technical Services Manager Major Fit Out
A leading London based fit out contractor delivering large scale, high value commercial interior projects is seeking an experienced Divisional Technical Services Manager to join its senior leadership team. The business specialises exclusively in major fit out and refurbishment projects, operating within complex, live, and logistically constrained city centre environments.
This is a senior, strategic role responsible for overseeing the technical services function across a division, providing leadership, governance, and technical assurance across multiple high profile fit out schemes from preconstruction through to handover.
The Role
As Divisional Technical Services Manager, you will set the technical direction for MEP delivery across the division, ensuring consistent standards, robust design management, and high quality outcomes across all projects. You will support Project Directors, Senior Technical Services Managers, and Building Services Managers, acting as the senior technical authority for complex fit out challenges.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide divisional leadership for MEP delivery across multiple major fit out projects
• Establish and maintain technical standards, procedures, and best practice specific to fit out delivery
• Oversee MEP design management from early stage design through construction, commissioning, and handover
• Act as the senior escalation point for complex coordination, interfaces, and technical risk within live environments
• Support bid and preconstruction teams with technical strategy, design reviews, and fit out specific risk assessments
• Provide technical governance over commissioning, testing, seasonal commissioning, and handover processes
• Work closely with commercial, planning, and construction teams to ensure programme certainty and commercial control
• Lead, mentor, and develop Senior Technical Services Managers and project based MEP teams
• Drive continuous improvement, standardisation, and innovation across fit out delivery
Candidate Profile
• Extensive experience in senior Technical Services or MEP leadership roles within a fit out or refurbishment main contractor environment
• Proven track record delivering major commercial fit out projects, ideally within central London
• Strong technical expertise across mechanical, electrical, public health, BMS, and specialist systems
• Confident managing multiple live fit out projects and senior stakeholder relationships
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of fast paced fit out programmes
• Clear, confident communicator with the ability to influence at senior leadership and client level
Desirable but Not Essential
• Chartered Engineer or senior professional membership (CIBSE, IET, or equivalent)
• Experience supporting bids and preconstruction strategy for major fit out schemes
• Strong understanding of BIM, digital coordination, and modern fit out delivery methods
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering
