Junior Mechanical Project Manager

Our client, a respected building services contractor based in Chichester, is expanding their project delivery team and seeking a Junior Mechanical Project Manager to join them. This is an ideal role for someone who's ready to step up, take ownership of projects, and grow into a fully autonomous Project Manager with the guidance of an experienced senior leadership team.
You'll be working on a diverse portfolio of healthcare and commercial projects, delivering high‑quality mechanical installations across the South.
Key Responsibilities
Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical building services projects from pre‑construction through to handover
Assist in managing project programmes, budgets, and resource allocation
Work closely with senior project managers to develop your technical and commercial understanding
Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Attend site meetings, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with health & safety standards
Review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation
Support procurement activities and manage materials and equipment deliveries
Contribute to project reporting, risk management, and quality assurance processes
About You
Experience in mechanical building services, ideally within a contracting environment
Currently working as an Assistant Project Manager, Junior Project Manager, or Project Engineer – or already a Project Manager who would benefit from additional support
Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, public health, etc.)
Confident communicator with the ability to build strong relationships
Organised, proactive, and eager to develop into a fully independent Project Manager
Full UK driving licence
