Location: Central London
We are currently recruiting for a well-established contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality interior fit-out and modular system solutions within the drywall sector across London and the Southeast.
We are seeking a commercially astute and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial management of projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring cost control, value engineering, and financial reporting are delivered to the highest standard.
You will be working for our client, a leading sub-contractor with over 20 years of experience operating across the construction industry.
As a Quantity Surveyor, your principal roles and responsibilities will include:
Managing project costs from tender stage through to final account.
Preparing and submitting valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.
Assessing and negotiating variations, change control, and compensation events.
Procuring subcontract packages and managing subcontractor accounts.
Monitoring project budgets, forecasts, and cost reports to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
Working closely with project managers, site teams, and design teams to ensure commercial alignment with programme delivery.
Reviewing drawings and specifications to identify commercial risks and opportunities.
Attending site meetings and client meetings as required.
Ensuring contractual compliance in line with agreed terms and conditions.Job Requirements:
Proven experience in a Quantity Surveyor role within the dry lining, fit-out, or construction industry.
Strong understanding of commercial management for drywall systems, lightweight steel framing, suspended ceilings, and screeding packages.
Experience working with standard forms of contract (e.g. JCT).
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
