Graduate Building Surveyor
Graduate Building Surveyor
Manchester
£28,000 – £35,000 + Full Package + Bonus
About the Role
Are you looking to start your career in Building Surveying in a role that goes beyond inspections and reports? This is an opportunity to join an award-winning consultancy that helps both public and private sector clients actively reshape, improve and future-proof their property assets.
We are working with a long-standing client as they continue to grow their successful Building Surveying and Project Management team. You'll be part of a business with a strong reputation for delivering improvement, refurbishment and estate enhancement projects across a diverse portfolio – from schools, universities and healthcare estates to commercial and mixed-use assets within the private realm.
This role is designed to give you early responsibility, structured support towards chartership, and meaningful involvement in projects that make a tangible difference to how buildings and estates perform.
Key Aspects
As a Graduate Building Surveyor, you'll support senior surveyors and project managers in delivering work that helps clients optimise and transform their assets. Your role will include:
• Assisting with condition surveys, asset reviews, feasibility studies and options appraisals to help clients make informed investment decisions.
• Supporting the delivery of refurbishment, improvement and repair projects, from initial briefing through to completion.
• Assisting with the preparation of specifications, schedules of work, cost plans and contract documentation.
• Gaining hands-on experience in project management and contract administration, including site inspections and stakeholder coordination.
• Working across a mixed portfolio of public and private sector clients, gaining exposure to both occupied and operational environments.
• Developing your technical knowledge in building pathology, defect diagnosis and lifecycle planning.
This is a role where you'll quickly move beyond observation, building confidence, taking ownership of elements of projects, and developing the skills needed to progress towards MRICS chartership.
What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from recent graduates or those with up to 18 months of relevant experience (including placements or internships). You should ideally have:
• An RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying.
• A genuine interest in project delivery, refurbishment and asset improvement.
• A developing understanding of contract administration and construction processes.
• A proactive, curious mindset and the ambition to progress to chartered status.
• A full UK driving licence.
Reasons to Apply
You'll be joining an award-winning consultancy with a proven track record of helping Building Surveyors carve out successful and fulfilling careers. The business is known for investing in its people and giving graduates the opportunity to grow into well-rounded, commercially aware professionals.
You'll benefit from:
• Structured APC support, mentoring and tailored training.
• Early and varied exposure to real projects across public and private estates.
• Strong project management experience alongside core building surveying skills.
• Clear progression routes and long-term career opportunities.
• A collaborative, supportive culture where graduates are encouraged to contribute and develop.
The role is supported by an attractive, bonus and very comprehensive benefits package. The consultancy has a highly effective agile working policy.
Early Applications are strongly encouraged!
