We’re supporting a successful Main Contractor in their search for an Estimating Manager to lead and develop their estimating function.

This is a senior role responsible for overseeing the full tendering process, managing a team of estimators, and producing accurate, competitive bids across a range of projects. You’ll work closely with pre-construction, contracts and senior management to support continued business growth.

Key responsibilities:

Managing and mentoring a team of 6 estimators

*

Overseeing the preparation of priced tenders from first principles

*

Producing detailed take-offs, Bills of Quantities and cost build-ups

*

Managing single-stage and two-stage tendering

*

Pricing projects under JCT contracts

*

Managing subcontractor enquiries, comparisons and selections

*

Leading tender reviews and contributing to pre- and post-tender meetings

*

Carrying out site visits and incorporating site conditions into pricing

*

Preparing budgets, cost plans and supporting handovers to delivery teams

About you:

*

Proven experience as an Estimating Manager or Senior Estimator within a main contractor

*

Strong knowledge of JCT contracts

*

Experience managing or leading an estimating team

*

Able to run multiple tenders concurrently and meet strict deadlines

*

Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
