Fire Door Engineer

A leader in the provision of fire protection services is looking for an experienced Fire Door Engineer/Carpenter to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. You will be working on commercial projects, education, care homes, retail, NHS, occupied properties carrying out new installations, upgrades and maintenance works to existing doors and frames.

The works will be based across Peterborough and surrounding areas, and will cover both internal and external door works. There will be aspects of the role where you will be working around members or the public, including but not exclusive to FED's, corridor doors, riser cupboards and access panels.

Responsibilities

* Installing and carrying out remedial works to new and existing fire doors

* Complete works in line with the manufacture’s specification

* Document works on a step-by-step basis, ensuring evidence is taken accurately

* Problem solving and being able to overcome unforeseen issues with the work

* Liaise with customers and members of the general public

* Will also include some aspect of 1st and 2nd fix

Requirements

* At least 2 years’ experience working with fire doors

* NVQ or equivalent in carpentry and joinery

* Experience installing fire doors and frames, full sets and full assemblies

* Full UK driving license

* 3rd party accreditation/registration under the FIRAS scheme (desired)
