Building Services Manager
Our client are seeking an experienced Building Services Manager (with Mechanical bias) to join the project team on a large heritage refurbishment in Central London.
The individual will be deployed on a couple of floors or a large area of the project to be proactive in driving the section/s forward utilising relevant experience to assess, produce schedules, program plan and carry out works in conjunction with other trades to commissioning and handover.
Must have CSCS card and Mechanical background aswell as a solid M&E understanding of large projects in London.
The Building Services Role
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager the individual would need to take ownership of the delivery and integration of MEP services from their current stage of construction through to final section/client handover. This is a hands-on leadership role where the individual would need to ensure systems are designed, installed, and delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
– Ensure MEP coordination across all building services disciplines throughout the remaining project lifecycle.
– Manage subcontractor performance, reviewing technical submissions, drawings, and installation plans for compliance and practicality.
– Drive quality assurance, ensuring installations meet design intent, statutory requirements, and sustainability benchmarks (e.g., BREEAM, CIBSE, BSRIA).
– Coordinate with other trades and stakeholders to maintain programme and avoid delays, resolving technical issues promptly.
– Oversee development and integration ensuring project objectives.
– Maintain accurate documentation and reporting through a Common Data Environment (e.g., 4projects).
– Champion innovation, including off-site manufacturing and digital tools, to improve efficiency and quality.
Your Profile
– Proven experience managing MEP delivery on complex projects, ideally including heritage refurbishments or high-profile environments such as galleries, museums, or listed buildings from a Main Contractor perspective.
– Strong technical and design expertise in mechanical, electrical, and public health services.
– Qualifications: HNC or Degree in Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
– Competent in 4projects or similar Common Data Environment platforms.
– A proactive, detail-driven professional with excellent communication and stakeholder management skill
This role is needed at an integral stage of the construction process and therefore the individual will need to be highly capable and skilled at driving the sections forward in conjunction with the sub-contractors and final specifications.
