Quantity Surveyor Data Centre

MK Search are working with a leading £1bn general contractor with a strong international presence delivering notable schemes across the industrial, pharma and data centre sectors who are looking for a quantity surveyor (or assistant) to join their team on a notable data centre they are delivering in Belgium. The company in question are the delivering the CSA elements across multiple phases with the opportunity to get involved from the very beginning and work across the campus as it develops over the coming years.

Reporting to an on-site commercial lead, you will be exposed to different elements of commercial duties with constant training and a clear and achievable progression path over the coming years.

Responsibilities:

• Contributing to the preparation of accurate and detailed financial documentation at all phases of the project.
• Contributing to the procurement and tendering of works, with a focus on managing subcontractor packages effectively.
• Keeping project costs on track to stay within budget.
• Working with subcontractors to review and finalise payments, changes, and account close-outs.
• Helping project and site teams with commercial decisions and support.
• Maintaining strong communication and collaboration with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders.
• Monitoring compliance with contract terms and relevant statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Working closely with the Project Manager to identify, anticipate, and communicate potential cost risks.

Requirements:
• A bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Economics, or a closely related field.
• At least 4 years of professional experience following graduation, preferably gained with a main contractor.
• Experience in managing or supporting data centre or mission-critical projects is strongly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of construction contracts and commercial management principles.
• Great at negotiating, analysing information, and communicating with others.
• Must possess EU citizenship or valid work authorization for Belgium
