Assistant Quantity Surveyor

We are working in partnership with a reputable main contractor who is seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a £25 million social housing project based in Welwyn.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant QS looking to develop their career on a large-scale project while working closely with an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor.

The Role:

* Assisting in the commercial management of a £25m social housing scheme

* Reporting directly into a Senior Quantity Surveyor

* Assisting with subcontract order preparation and placement

* Carrying out measurement of trade packages

* Supporting cost control, forecasting and reporting

* Assisting with subcontract procurement and package management

* Preparing and agreeing valuations and variations

* Working closely with site and project management team

The Ideal Candidate:

* Current experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Assistant

* Experience working for a main contractor preferred

* Background in social housing or residential projects advantageous

* Confident with measurement and subcontract administration

* Strong numerical and analytical skills

* Relevant construction or commercial qualifications (or working towards)
