Architectural Design Manager – Data Centres
€100,000 – €110,000 + Holidays + Package
Location: Lisbon / Sintra, Portugal (Local Hire)

A leading specialist engineering & design consultancy, trusted across Europe for the delivery of hyperscale and mission-critical data centre projects, is expanding its architectural leadership team in Portugal.

This consultancy works at the very front end of data centre development, partnering directly with hyperscalers, global technology clients, and Tier-1 delivery partners. Known for its design-led, technically rigorous approach, the business plays a central role in shaping highly secure, efficient, and scalable facilities across Europe.

As Architectural Design Manager, you will take ownership of architectural design delivery across complex data centre projects, acting as the key interface between clients, engineers, and external design partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design from concept through detailed design and IFC
• Manage architectural consultants and coordinate multidisciplinary inputs
• Ensure architectural solutions align with technical, operational, and security requirements
• Drive design quality, compliance, and programme adherence
• Chair design workshops and technical coordination meetings
• Manage design change control, RFIs, and technical submissions
• Support construction teams with design clarifications and site queries
• Ensure compliance with local planning, building regulations, and client standards

Requirements

• Degree-qualified Architect or Architectural Engineer
• Strong experience delivering data centre, industrial, or large-scale technical projects
• Proven background in architectural design management or technical design leadership
• Experience coordinating complex multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Locally based in Portugal (local hire only)
