Civils Supervisor

Dewey Group is seeking an experienced Civils Supervisor with a strong enabling works background to support a major package of works commencing in Walton-on-the-Naze at the end of January 2026.

This role will suit a hands-on supervisor who is confident managing complex early-stage construction activities and working alongside an established lead foreman as part of a strong site management team.

Scope of Works

The initial phase of works will include:

* Construction of a piling platform (approx. 50m x 50m, 850mm thick)

* Protection of an existing live sewer using Ekki mats

* Support during geotechnical investigations

* Management and coordination of excavated materials

Following completion of the geotechnical phase, the role will expand to include:

* Capping beam works

* Bulk excavation

* Base slab construction

While direct geotechnical experience is not essential, experience working around geotechnical operations and complex enabling environments is highly beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

* Day-to-day supervision of enabling works activities

* Coordination of labour, plant, and materials

* Working closely with the site team to ensure safe, efficient delivery

* Managing excavations and material movements

* Ensuring works are carried out in line with RAMS and programme

* Maintaining high standards of health, safety, and quality on site

Ideal Candidate

* Proven experience as a Supervisor on enabling works packages

* Strong understanding of piling mats, excavations, and early-stage construction

* Practical, proactive, and solution-focused approach

* Comfortable working as part of a supervisory “duo”

* Good communication skills with site teams and management
