Assistant Estimator

We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing electrical contractor who is looking to add an Assistant Estimator to their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within electrical estimating and progress within a supportive business.

The Role:

As Assistant Estimator, you will work closely with senior estimators and the commercial team to support the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders across a range of electrical projects. This role would suit someone with some estimating experience or an electrical background looking to move into estimating.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of electrical tenders and cost estimates

*

Take off quantities from drawings and specifications

*

Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations

*

Help maintain pricing databases and cost information

*

Support bid submissions and tender documentation

*

Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams

*

Assist with value engineering and cost planning

Requirements:

*

Some experience in estimating or a background in electrical contracting

*

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications

*

Strong numerical and analytical skills

*

Good attention to detail and organisational skills

*

Proficient in Microsoft Excel (estimating software experience advantageous)

*

Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
