Estimating Manager – Construction (Public Sector)
Salary: £110,000–£130,000 + Bonuses (dependent on experience, with flexibility for exceptional candidates)
Location: South Woodford, Office-Based | Senior Leadership Role
We are recruiting an Estimating Manager to join a growing and well-established construction business delivering public sector new build and refurbishment projects.
This is a newly created senior leadership position due to continued growth. The role offers an experienced Estimating Manager the opportunity to take ownership of the estimating function, while also welcoming high-calibre Senior Estimators ready to step into management at a senior level.
The Role
As Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of six Estimators, overseeing tenders ranging from £100k to £10m across a varied public sector portfolio.
The position combines hands-on estimating, team leadership, and strategic involvement, with direct access to senior management and genuine influence over departmental direction.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead, manage, and develop a team of Estimators

Oversee the preparation, review, and submission of accurate, competitive tenders
*
Manage cost planning, pricing strategy, and risk allowances
*
Deliver tenders for public sector new build and refurbishment projects
*
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal commercial teams
*
Drive improvements in estimating processes, systems, and consistency
*
Report directly to senior management and contribute to business strategy
About You

Proven estimating experience within the UK construction industry
